Most facilitation is built on technique: the what’s, how’s, why’s, and when’s.
And yes, they are significant. These tools hold as long as the room behaves.
But technique cannot hold what is unexpected – the breakdowns, the breakthroughs, the shadows, the traumas,
the field when it goes dark. It cannot hold the faces of intimacy – the charge, the desire, the shame, the taboo.
What holds the people, no matter what comes up, is the intelligence of love.

I have seen and learned that the love of a facilitator is the only thing large enough to hold everything a room will bring.
